πŸŒ• Moon Phases vs Bitcoin

Does the lunar cycle move BTC? Phase-window returns, eclipses, and super-moons β€” for fun, not financial advice.

BTC Price & Lunar Events

About this chart

For each occurrence of a moon phase, we measure BTC's % return from the moment the phase starts to the moment the next phase starts (~3.7 days). Phase boundaries are exact UTC moments, not calendar days β€” new and full moons are refined with Meeus' Algorithm 49 to within ~1 minute.

Event overlays: lunar / solar eclipses use the Meeus argument-of-latitude criterion at the refined syzygy. Super-moons are full moons with geocentric distance below 360,000 km (Espenak / Time-and-Date definition).

Caveat: eclipse and super-moon samples are tiny β€” single-digit per year. We're not claiming causality; the moon doesn't move markets. This is a fun overlay.

Caveats. Eclipse and super-moon samples are tiny (~2–4 of each per year); rows with n < 10 are flagged and shouldn't be over-interpreted. The "phase window" for each event is the ~3.69-day segment until the next phase boundary. No causal claim is made β€” this is an entertainment overlay, not a trading signal.
